The full moon asks for nothing and gives everything.
Invite your body, mind, and heart into the healing illumination of restorative yoga.
Restorative Yoga is a passive, healing yoga practice in which the goal is to fully support the body with props for relaxation in each posture. Forward bends, back bends, and twists help the health of the spine, while allowing the systems of the body to reboot. Stress can damper the strength of the digestive system, immune system, endocrine system, lymphatic system, as well as jar the nervous system.
The full moon pulls on the tides and creates more tidal changes between highs and lows, some people experience similar fluctuations in their emotional system. Research has shown people tend to fall asleep later after and sleep less in the days leading up to a full moon. The cozy, soft, nurturance of restorative yoga cultivates soothing and rejuvenation for the organs and systems. Restorative yoga coaxes the body to enjoy being held in comfort and stillness. Guided gentle breath work, visualization, and poetry treat the mind to a loving focus. A true antidote for tension.
This yoga class is inspired by training* with Judith Hanson Lasater, renowned restorative yoga teacher and author of Relax and Renew: Restful Yoga for Stressful Times.
